ANCESTOR

Every five minutes, a transplant candidate dies while waiting for a compatible heart, liver, or kidney. Imagine a technology that could provide those life-saving transplant organs for a high price, and imagine what a company would do to monopolize that technology. On a remote island in Lake Superior, a team of geneticists has unlocked this holy grail of medicine. By reverse-engineering thousands of genomes, they dial back the evolutionary clock to re-create the progenitor of all mammals. The method? Illegal. The result? An AI-designed animal whose organs can be safely transplanted into any person. There's just one problem: these "ancestors" are not the docile herd animals the scientists envisioned. Instead, the project spawns something big, something evil … something very, very hungry. As creators become prey in an ultimate battle for survival, the research team must fight for their lives — even while government agents close in to shut the project down, and the deep-pocketed company backing this research reveals its own cold-blooded agenda.ANCESTOR is a complete, serialized fiction podcast by Number One New York Times bestselling novelist Scott Sigler, with all episodes available -- binge the entire story now in your favorite podcast app. Or for print, eBook, and ad-free audiobook versions of the tale, visit scottsigler.com/ancestor.PRAISE FOR ANCESTOR"This story sizzles with tension. Introduction persons change
I loved the show up until the woman started doing the introduction to the shows but I can’t even stand the sound of her voice let alone her “jokes”

    Good story, but the ADS!
Whether it’s the ubiquitous ads for a mystery hidden object game, an ABC employee who sounds like a Bob’s Burgers character chewing through the phrase “let’s face it” or promising you it’s “not like other news podcasts,” or the OVER 2 MINUTE LONG SHOPIFY AD, you’ll be sure to have your fill of late stage capitalism through this story and its advertisements. Seriously, I like the story well enough, it’s engaging, relatively well written (perhaps a little bogged down by unnecessary science lessons), and full of suspense. But the episodes are like 25min, and at least 4 minutes of that runtime is ADVERTISEMENTS. It’s not only a blatant and obnoxious cash grab, it means that for every hour of this podcast you listen to, you’ll also be served about 20min of ADS. Hope you have your hands free for this one, because you’re gonna want to be able to skip ahead.

    Entertaining
Some of it was interesting for sure. Though my god how many times did he have to call a 250 LB woman fat. You would think she was 500+ with his need to reference it.

I have questions about the ending but that would be spoilers.
It feels like you left room for at least a few more episodes in this series and I hope you come back to it. Some Checkovs guns that just didn’t pay off as it were, and I’m not at all talking about the Ancestors. Absolutely loved the story though binged it in a couple days staying up way later than I ought to have to do so. I’m tired now, good night. Thank you!

    Entertaining
This was my first foray into to the morbid world of Scott Sigler. There were a few plot holes and the scene in episode 3, which was well set up, unfortunately went nowhere. I was anticipating further development of those dynamics… Overall, it was entertaining, made long boring car rides bearable.

    Awesome story
I listened to this years ago and loved it. Gave hard covers of it for Christmas presents. And now I’m ecstatic to be able to listen to it again.
