ravenmoon22Bummed outI was hooked the first podcast unfortunately when the partner came on it turned into a fashion show. I’ll be looking for another podcast sadly

IleneWeCome on the season’s over!I would give this five stars if there were a few more episodes ….. like all the rest from season 7B! I really used to enjoy listening and sometimes watching along. I keep on checking and we seem to be stuck on Brotherly Love!

Unafraid Of ToilThis is official??It’s painful to listen to this podcast. Between the host’s ramblings from one subject to the next without a proper segue, the poor audio quality, and the nonexistent editing that is in the form of long moments of silence and repeated “umms” and “uhhs” it’s impossible to follow along without losing interest. I’m sure there’s a great deal of fascinating information but it’s completely lost due to the reasons listed above.

CaitraekiFantasticThis podcast is great! I just started rewatching the show and listening to this podcast at the same time. I will admit it takes a little time to get into, but I love hearing the perspectives of the writers and what went into making each scene. It’s really interesting to hear what issues they had and what they wanted to do at first and how it ended up. I love the show I think it’s remarkable and the podcast is a lovely addition to watching the show. Can’t wait for the next season!

CarolMorganCoxLove the show, this podcast needs an editorI love Outlander and was excited to find this official podcast. I enjoy hearing the behind the scenes. However, please hire a podcast editor to remove the um’s and uh’s and the long gaps of silence. I’m surprised that an official podcast has such poor editing and audio quality. Also, it seems like the host just meanders along with whatever comes to mind. Having a clear structure for each podcast episode would make the listening experience better.

ElizaJane72No fluff or pomp just show detailsI like the other podcasts for Outlander with the fluff and theatrics, you know who you two are, but this one is for the show making geeks who like all those behind the scenes details . Just the basics , raw ,and flawed 🙂

Weff66Outlander LivesMore More More More Outlander Is Epic Never Ever Has There Ever Been A Better Series Ever!! Jamie and Claire bring this saga to life in a way that brings them into the present time as well as draw their follower's fans and obsessed fanatics back in time where the feeling is warm and exciting and you feel the energy excitement pain and heartbreak. It lingers it is the most well done series there is so much more left...

BearJLI enjoy the podcast! Thanks for the podcast. I like listening to it and getting behind the scenes stuff. Sometimes I’ll watch the episode at the same time. I would love to hear Sam and Caitriona and other actors on here with the hosts to give their perspectives from behind the scenes. The 7th season is great and I just need more Claire and Jamie.

JMR3153Very poor podcastThe execution and production level of this podcast in my opinion is unacceptably low to be officially associated with a show of this caliber. The information is great, but the host is talking too slow, there are very long silent gaps, and the audio is not good enough. For an audio first medium the listening experience is being completely ignored. This could be great but needs significant changes. The Yellowstone podcast is a great example to learn from.

@imwillhendersonWaiting soooo long for this PodcastWhy are you waiting so long—a week after it airs, Matt, to load the podcast? Ep 6 wasn’t until Sat-2 days after Ep 7. Frustrating
-
baseballballetMatt As HostMatt Roberts is a really great podcast host. Makes you feel like you’re sitting with him watching the episode. Love his insight into the production aspects, and appreciate all the work that goes into each and every episode. Love that he takes the time out of his extremely busy schedule to gift the fans a nice sit down chat of the ongoing season. 👏👏👏👏👏

GoSeahawksPlease change the concept/pacingHow can a show be so good and a podcast about it so bad? I listen from time to time because there are interesting bits from the writers. However, the concept of slowing the podcast down and leaving gaping holes of silence so that it tracks the show is both boring and useless for people who don’t listen to a podcast WHILE watching the show. Also, the time spent talking about how marvelous this department or that one is has near zero value to the listener. Explaining what the dept has done in a specific example from the show (say, the introduction of well researched plants on the set in the Caribbean or the floor drain detail about the slaughterhouse turned jail in this episode) is plenty. Hardly anyone on this podcast sounds like they’re into it. It would have been so lovely to listen to an enthusiastic, entertaining, informative story about the making of each of these episodes. Obviously, everyone who works on the show is brilliant but the glacial pace and low energy of these podcasts have finally made them not worth it anymore to this dedicated Outlander fan.

Bored outlander fanVery slow commentaryLOVE all the outlander shows and books! But this commentary doesn’t do them justice. Love the stories behind the scenes but the hosts are bit boring. There are many pauses where they are watching the episode so they have content to talk about. It makes it boring and looses your attention.
-
alo215Love OutlanderI love ALL things Outlander and this podcast is no exception! I binged the first 5 seasons late in 2020 then proceeded to read all the books, short stories, and novellas. This podcast just enhanced all those things! Thank you!🏴🏴🏴

minmbrPlease return to when this podcast was good!PLEASE watch the episodes right before doing the podcast for that episode. The amount of time where we sit in silence and then the host is like “we haven’t watched these in so long so I’m watching it again” is mind numbing. If you want to create a quality product as these used to be when Ronald did them, then prepare content and make it interesting. We don’t need to hear matt Roberts keep repeating that he can’t keep everything from the books because there is limited time and it costs money…no one cares. I encourage the producers of this podcast to go listen to earlier episodes of this podcast and compare the quality…it really has gone down and that’s a shame.
-
MAL49TalkYou’ve got to talk on the podcast. Too much silence. We want to hear what you’re thinking.
-
PhyzPGreat thoughts behind the scenes.I love these podcasts and do not find them boring. I am fascinated by the whole BTS stuff. DG’s books are huge and bringing them to a visual medium is daunting—do I love all the adaptations, no, but there is so, so much more that I love. S6 has been grand.
-
PuzcPodcasts have turned into the “Spin” clubGetting the podcasts out latter and latter after an episode. Takes them that long to come up with good reasons why they butcher an episode. Even had to bring out a executive producer to help explain reasonings when multiple complaints were voiced. Gave up listening after that. Really don’t want to hear about their “reasonings” when it really amounts to “we thought it would be nice”. Episodes 6 and 7 especially episode 7 of season 6 such horrible decisions made.

Squad4321E 607What happened to the 607 podcast?

Sitting elsewhere nowWhat Happened to Podcast for 605The two stars are to express my disappointment with how there’s been crickets since episode 605 aired - two weeks ago. I have so enjoyed rewatching the episode with the podcast; I love learning about the thoughts and strategies behind translating the story from page to screen. For me, this has been part of the journey. Until now. Have you just decided to drop the podcast? Are there technical difficulties? Aren’t the fans of Outlander due some sort of explanation? I miss the podcast!
-
Savannah74Horrible!I love podcasts of series - by far this is the most annoying (eating and drinking Season One +) and just plain boring!!!
-
azphmListened to all of the podcasts…They are so good to hear all of your thoughts and ideas, realized or not. I write and am so inspired by all of you. Especially with my favorite story. LeeAnn Sharpe Glendale Arizona
-
Amelie242Couldn’t be more boringWhat’s going on, guys? This has got to be the most boring and disappointing “official” podcast I’ve ever heard. I love Outlander and would love to hear the people who made the show discuss it in a way that doesn’t put me to sleep. Please consider listening to the Gilded Age official podcast and seeing how a really engaging “official” podcast can be done.

Jo St NickReview of Episode 604Hi - so, why the forced conversation initiated by Laird, JAMMF w Malva mentioning her being of marriageable age, when all she did was mention the mushrooms for her father? A smart careful adult man would never broach such a subject w an unmarried woman , alone -especially w one whose father is evangelical. Ugh. JAMMF would Never TEASE an unmarried female tenant.
-
outlandosaurus😕Zero energy from the hosts. Sounds like two exhausted people trying to talk about our show. Good to listen to before bed
-
KarinByTheBayInsight! What a treat to get this insight on the creation of such a well-made, beloved show! Thank you. You are answering questions I had, and ones I didn’t think to ask but am glad to know about. As a podcast listener, I’m clearly missing some visual component. A brief description of whatever is on screen would be much appreciated.

Linz82A nice find to survive droughtlander.I’ve watched all the episodes multiple times but then found this podcast. It’s been a lot of fun to hear behind the scenes stuff. Unfortunately, in season 3, the podcast takes a turn when Toni and Matt take over. As of S3:E4, the podcast is mostly about explaining the story line to me…which I definitely don’t need and actually find kind of annoying. Tell me stuff I won’t know…I’ve seen the episodes and can grasp the plot lines on my own. I see Matt & Toni are hosting the rest of the season, so I hope someone gave them this feedback already!
-
my outlanderMatt RobertsI love this show and the books so much. I feel you have all done an amazing job delivering the show in the series. Episode 512 was truly amazing it was delivered with dignity and grace. There are not many shows out there like outlander so much good stuff in this series. I hope it continues for a Long long time.Diana is an amazing writer I look forward to reading as many of her books as I possibly can. I think you have an audience forever.

Katkat_WDuplicate?The Running a Production episode posted Aug 11 is the same as the Post-Production one from May 30. Duplicate or posted the wrong episode?

GalwayGal87Excellent Behind the Scenes info!I’ve loved supplementing my latest Outlander binge with this podcast. It’s gotten me through the most recent phase of Droughtlander, and I find the commentary about all that happens off camera to be fascinating. Many thanks to the Outlander producers for taking the time to watch with us!
-
sangria_sweetieLove outlander but this podcast needs workI recently began immersing myself in Outlander and truly love the show. For a historical drama there is so much material to work with and was expecting the podcast to deliver in a meaningful way but somehow it falls short. The format just isn’t remotely helpful - we are expected to listen along as they play the episode in the background and comment on it. It just feels too disorganized, you have to think back to the episode and the themes are all over the place. Don’t even get me started on the background noise and constantly interrupting each other during the episodes. Great idea but needs better execution.
-
AtttripLots of "Empty" SpaceIt is so awesome to really dive deep into the episodes and find out the how, where and why, but it is hard to listen and not actually see what the host is watching! Is there some place that we can see still if what he is watching? My memory is pretty good but as I go back to further earlier podcasts, I cannot remember exactly what the scene looks like that he is referencing. Other than that issue, I will enjoy this podcast and hope it can keep my Outlander obsession satisfied until season 6!

DaphbrogThe host is awfulHe is reading questions. Come on. Cringe
-
thisisridixjlusMore discussion of themesI’m enjoying the podcast as a way to stay immersed in the series. Have already watched it all multiple times and it does enhance my appreciation of the series. I do wish there were more discussion of themes and character arcs than the mechanics of shooting and editing. Its a woman focused show so I like women’s perspectives on the shows. I’ve just listened to the pod re To Ransom a Mans Soul and really thought it would have been good to discuss that JAMMF’s guilt re his pleasure echoes that of most survivors of sexual abuse. Even so, I’m in for the long haul! Thanks.
-
Race zooOutlanderI love all seasons of Outlander and have watched each a number of times. Great job to all I have found myself saying on occasion, what did they say. I fill in the blanks and keep going and sometime on later watches I hear and say, that is it. Job well done

dallasedwardsI discovered this podcast at the beginning of quarantineI have been a fan of the books and the series since the beginning. At the beginning of quarantine I decided to find a podcast to immerse myself in during the time I would take away from work and go on a run. I am so grateful that I found this one and was able to listen to every single episode during this crazy time in our lives. It made me fall back in love with the entire series. Thank you for taking the time to do this and I can’t wait for droughtlander to end!

JTinPNWAnnoyingI am a super easy podcast listener. I have never given a podcast less than 5 stars. I am not picky. at. all. If I can hear you clearly and I am interested in the subject, you are golden. I recently found Outlander after years of girlfriends telling me to read and watch it. I finished all 5 seasons in 7 days. And am obsessed, so I came to look for podcasts talking about OL. I assume this is the original for OL and was so excited to start binging on the podcast. I gave this podcaster 3 stars. I was only able to get 7 minutes in before I could not take his slurping of his drink anymore. Is this supposed to be endearing? Scottish whiskey? I don't get it and could not get past its annoyance. I will have to find a different OL podcast to binge.
-
Iheartoutlander210Gives me another reason to rewatch the whole series! Really interesting to learn about the reasons behind certain shots and all the hard work that goes into making a show. Great podcast, but episode 210 Prestonpans is not working/“not available”...Regardless, keep up the awesome work!
-
asa3409306I know the writers are all friends but Matt talks over Toni and Maril so much and it gets annoying. And not just in this episode. I couldn’t love a show anymore and appreciate their work but please let your colleagues comment.

Izzys momIntriguing, educational and entertainingIt’s always, well maybe not always, intriguing to learn how the sausage is made. In this instance it’s educational and explains so much about why this production isn’t just ‘the books’ per se, and hearing about the fabrics, accessories, make-up, set dressing, film crews, weather, it’s all good stuff. I love when Ron D. and Terry argue about whether they’ve argued about something. Terry’s always right, btw. Getting the BTS and production input is so much fun; to recall that they don’t film in sequence, and to hear them say, “oh! I love when Jamie says this,” or, “Claire is great when she does this.” Of course! You guys wrote that! It’s totally entertaining. And the beverages are outstanding. I’ve watched the show probably 15 times, so for #16 I am enjoying playing this podcast with the visuals in the background. Thank you for doing this!
-
MickicattellLove thisso fascinating how and why they made this the way they did. Coodos to you and your whole team Simply brilliant
-
TxSassenachLove it!I love these podcasts! They add to my love of all things Outlander and give the audience insight into the production, writing, sets, costumes, special effects and more.
-
lveithphotoDisappointedNot very engaging and couldn’t hear what scenes were being viewed during the podcast.
-
Chica3575Much appreciationAlways look forward to these podcast episodes. I enjoy listening to the explanations and conversations to watch the episode through the writers and production’s eyes. I already love the show but have deeper appreciation after listening to each podcast episode. Thank you for all of your hard work and for a fantastic show!
-
WNCtiffLove rehashing each weeks ep w y’allYeah. I really enjoy hearing all the details, planning, behind the scenes info. I’m in Asheville, NC. So if you’re ever here let me take you out for dinner 😂😁 and yes. Y’all have captured WNC wonderfully in Scotland. The ferns!! ;)

anancialiEpisode 8I love the way you make me feel like you’re sitting right here in my living room with me I sometimes answer you and you even make me laugh at times Nothing you say is boring it is all very interesting and thank you for taking time out of your day to fill ours with happiness!
-
overmt girlThanks for sharingMatt, during this unusual time listening to you makes me feel less lonely and being with an Outlander fan. Thanks for all the explanations and dedicated hard work from the entire team! Great season!
-
jilyswmLast wordsI really enjoy your talks about the show. 😊
-
JessieBlondeEnjoying Behind the ScenesI really love this podcast as someone who has studied theater production. I’m in the process of listening to the books. I’ve seen everything available on Netflix so to maximize my experience I rewatch an episode and then listen to the podcast. While the dialog is going on, I play the episode on mute to follow along with comments on the technical work. I really enjoy hearing about the intent behind straying away from the book or emphasizing relationships between characters. I’ve come to appreciate the show even more!
