yosoytinoEnriching content!I’m a UX professional of over 15 years and I find this podcast SO helpful to me STILL in this stage of my career as it reaffirms some of the challenges I confront beyond screen design. New designers would help themselves greatly by listening to Jeremy and his all-star guests chop it up about important topics and be prepared for the arduous yet rewarding career or UX.

designer abroadA UX podcast for the practitionerJeremy’s guests talk about the whole practice of UX and aren’t afraid to talk about the real work of UX. Difficult stakeholders, feeling undervalued in a business-first culture, advancing your career in a difficult market. Jeremy’s sense of humor keeps the episodes positive despite the sometimes heavy topics.

highgrownAll the stuff that makes one a truly effective UX designerValuable content surrounding all the important, yet oft-overlooked non-design, human stuff that truly makes one an effective UX designer. Jeremy is a fantastic host and asks really great questions to extract the most value from his guests.

FlyingApeGood content (I’m biased)Jeremy is such a positive force that you’d be silly to not want him influencing your career in UX through this podcast. Good stuff. Disclaimer: I was on an episode talking about Divinate.co and Degreeless.Design 🫡

AmabliA MUST LISTEN for Newbies and Seasoned UX-ersHey y’all, it’s all the information that they didn’t teach you in bootcamp, plus insightful nuggets for those of us seasoned folk. Also, Jeremy has a welcoming, friendly style to interviewing that is far from the “know-it-all Tech Bro A-hole” style we’ve all heard before. He’s like a dude you could have a beer with while you talk shop! You should stop reading this now and subscribe to this podcast.

hollytothedangerzoneReal talk about UXThis show covers a wide range of topics in UX that go way deeper than the normal “learn Figma / UI design / tools”. It’s amazing that resources like this are available, and for free. Huge benefit to any designer wanting a behind the scenes look at what life as UX designer is really like. Thanks Jeremy for doing the show, doing it very consistently, and at a high quality level.

Jeremys ability to extract practical advice and tips from guests has been immensely beneficial.. Each episode feels like a personalized mentorship session, offering guidance and encouragement to those of us on the job search journey. RobDCPNew to the podcast, but staying for the conversation.I have been a follower of Jeremy on LinkedIn for a few months and we recently connected too! The knowledge he shares on his socials is thought provoking and insightful. For anyone in the UX/Design space he should be one of your follows. I stumbled onto his podcasts via his recent post about Tommy Gecco which blew me away. The knowledge Tommy shares is next level and thought provoking. The simple conversational style of this show makes consumption of the knowledge seemingly fluid like osmosis. I felt like I was in the room talking with these guys and it was just so refreshing. Thanks for all you do Jeremy! You’ve got a fan. Keep up the great work!

MwgoldenvoxPlenty of InspoI am a big fan of Jeremy’s podcast. As a new/junior designer (actually just finishing up a boot camp), I feel like I have an advocate who’s thinking about ways to keep me inspired, motivated and informed. This can be a solitary and intimidating journey: working/learning remotely and breaking into a new field - and I feel like Jeremy’s got my back. There are nuggets in every episode - from ways to approach the job market, to company culture, to how to market myself, and some professional design tools and resources as well. Thank you, Jeremy! (I recommend your podcast to all my design boot camp peers.)

wsbmwsExcellent show!Beyond UX is a helpful, interesting pod with a friendly and authentic feel. Jeremy and his guests talk about timely and timeless topics, from navigating team dynamics to the current state of UX hiring and education. Jeremy often chooses topics and guests that go into deeper dives of related skills, such as storytelling for UX, and other less-talked-about superpowers. It’s a regular listen for me, and it always makes me feel better equipped for my work and my day.

noisydollGets really real with itI started by watching Jeremy’s interview with Bobby Johnson. I’m a musician looking to pivot to UX design and especially wanted to connect with other performing artists getting into UX, because I feel like we probably have a unique perspective. I definitely did get what I was hoping for out of that interview, and felt a lot less alone and weird after hearing it. Sometimes the phrase “design is not art” gets thrown around with a lot of contempt for artists, but I think it’s making a lot of assumptions about artists that don’t even hold up if you actually work with them. I also was able to tone down my perception of the job search as being incredibly hostile and dehumanizing, from hearing about Bobby’s experience. Besides the specific topics in this episode, I also really like Jeremy’s interview style that shows genuine interest and affinity for the person he’s talking to. There’s a great balance and mutual uplift between the two people talking. It’s also a good balance between fun/easygoing conversation and being serious about one’s work intentions and informed opinions. I hope that the people I eventually get to work with are like this.

MattMac777Genuine UX Guidance & Perspective!!I’ve been listening to this podcast for a while now, and I’ve found many of the episodes really enlightening. This podcast does a great job of digging deep into the world of UX, and giving listeners an honest take on what the gig is ACTUALLY like, instead of what other shiny Internet videos may tell you it is. Jeremy pulls no punches and provides no-nonsense, practical guidance for both seasoned UX practitioners and newbie designers alike. He provides amazing insights into the world of UX, and does all of this while maintaining a jovial and approachable demeanor during his episodes. If you’re at all curious about what the world of UX actually is, and want the inside scoop on what it takes to be a UX designer, this is the podcast for you! UX is ABSOLUTELY more than just design or pretty interfaces, and Jeremy breaks it down for you like not many others can.

PhillyUIGuyGreat podcast focused on UX and challengesListening to your podcast connected to my background so well. I work on a team of 75 UXers, within an even larger Innovation group. I have heard way too often how people don’t understand the UX process, when they have not worked closely with IT & Business Owners. 25 years of UX, self taught, and feel successful enough. Great content and look forward to listening to all your podcasts!

kaymbeeeeSo much to learnI thought I knew enough about UX design to get by in my daily life but after listening to Jeremy and hearing the info he had to share I realized there was so much more to learn and so much more that I wanted to learn! TexdlewBeyond the workJeremy is great at taking an already human-centered topic and making it personal. How does this matter to you as a person? What could you, individual human, learn from or in UX? How could you, person with personal aspirations, dive into this industry? And more. Plus, he’s funny. Well worth the listen.

stephen dunfordFantastic for all of us Designers who need a little bit of helpLove, love, love this podcast. I am a new to the UX-Ui business and using these tips and tricks is a god sent. Thank Heavens for Ux-Ui design. Back when I was applying to design positions I had sent out … a few hundred resumes and what was most effective - finding industry that I passionate about/ something that I valued and a company that shares my values. Then google, LinkedIn, search search search for as many companies and possible companies that are adjacent but have a similar flavor. Then Connect with People - real people. Compliment the company that you want to work for. Treat this like a phone screen for them. Ask , question , and dig deep . You got this UX / Ui designers . Excellent!

JMillsPaysBlilsA different take!Maybe I'm partial, but this podcast is an important resource for junior UX professionals who are just starting out in their career. The hard skils are important, but don't overlook the soft skils as a way to grow as a UX professional!
