My oldest child at Suffolk University-pre law. I love listening to the old cases and how you break them down. I agree with all your points, most recently on the Karen Reed case. The fact that you would re-accuse kids who were victimized, lied on and bullied by police and a corrupt DA into admitting to something they DID NOT DO and spent of a decade in prison for crimes they were innocent, of basically running around sexually assaulting women in the park is insane. Focus your comments on the people who are GUILTY not innocent black kids. Immediate unfollow. Trash rambling mess.

Barry does a good job picking apart crime stories from Boston and New England.

If you want to drink the MA Koolaid of corruption and denial, this podcast isn’t for you. Excellent Research with a dose of humanity , as he dishes out truth….love this podcast!

I love listening to podcasts but especially when they’re from my hometown! Boston Confidential is an excellent well researched podcast. Love the topics and especially the updates on the Karen Read trial. Barry is a great host, well versed in all things Boston and go buy one of his mugs!!!

I loved this podcast when it first started. Then Barry drank the turtle boy koolaid. Now every episode is either about Karen read and promoting turtle boy’s lunacy.

Every episode is 20% about the Karen Read trial, 20% decent content, the rest of the time is Barry espousing his right wing agenda—including his negative thoughts about public education. If you’re a teacher, don’t waste your time.

Really enjoy Barry's podcasts! Only knock is I feel like new episodes aren't as frequent and a lot ot replays lately. Would love for him to hit on some new ones!

I just found this podcast and have to say I am hooked. I was born and raised in Boston and am now living in Maine. I love my home city and all things that make it the best city in the world especially the true crime stories. I listened to your take on the Sean Ellis case. I watched Trial 4 years ago and have to say I was absolutely convinced of his innocence. When I saw that you covered this case and had a different perspective, I decided to listen. I was skeptical going in. Surprisingly, I learned things that were not covered in the documentary. Now I’m no longer absolutely convinced of his innocence but am definitely second guessing my initial thoughts. I’m going to dig into some of the things I’ve learned from your coverage with an open mind. Thank you for giving your honest opinion and making me think about the case from a different perspective. I know you got some negative feedback from these episodes. I think it’s important for us to listen to all perspectives. Even if we still disagree afterwards that’s ok. But it’s important to keep an open mind. Love this podcast!

Very interesting topics but just can’t listen to past a few minutes of any episode. Every sentence is long and drawn out, doesn’t hold attention. Too bad, I wanted to learn more about Boston’s crime history.

Dont you ever change your reporting! Not in any way. I appreciate your honesty and often clear explanation on corruption in our society as a whole. They all have a agenda. Any negative comments are coming from bias and negative people unworthy of your time. Keep up the great reporting and commentary.

Barry I love your podcast. Your so knowledgeable and funny too. Your accent is so Boston it really makes your podcast all the more authentic. I’m eagerly learning about all these criminals and cases I’ve never heard of. I’m also sad for the families that had to endure the pain of going through these horrible experiences. I’m completely obsessed with the Karen Read case and look forward to new developments in this. I’m also disgusted that my hard earned money is funding this. Can you do a podcast about how Maura Healy is just letting this happen? I’d like to know how much this is costing the commonwealth now for round 2, so double the cost. I hope someday justice prevails for Officer John O’Keefe, he deserves it. Stacey Surenian :)

I only recently found Barry and this podcast and I’m loving catching up! Love Barry’s style and honest opinions. I’m recommending Boston Confidential to my friends and family!

I usually listen to podcasts in the background while I work. I had to shut it off. It’s like someone gave this guy a script 5 minutes before recording it and asked him to tell the story. He’s all over the map. I didn’t make it through the second episode before shutting it off. I’m from the Boston area and would love to hear some of these stories but I can’t tolerate this guy.

Great coverage about the corrupt police department in the obvious cover up of & framing of an innocent woman. May justice be served!!

Absolutely love Barry’s work. I enjoy the easy, relaxed feel of what feels like a discussion with a friend. Thorough detailing of Boston/Northeast cases that is always unbiased and fair. Barry sticks to the facts for the most part, and always lets you know when he’s offering his opinion vs what is known fact.

I live on the North Shore and wanted to follow the Karen Read case. This is superb, well-informed, authentic local coverage. The narrator is professional and well-qualified to cover the case. 13th Juror is the other great podcast I’ve found covering this case.

I’ve been listening to this podcast from the beginning, Barry does a great job getting into these cases. It’s very informative and you learn a lot about true crime events that happened in and around the Boston area. Also, his coverage of the Karen Read trial has been exceptional, he should win some kind of award for it!

We tried to listen for 4 episodes to get the info on Karen Read and I was pulling my hair out. Lots of conspiracy theories, so much misplaced anger about politics that has nothing to do with her case, lacks depth, terrible story telling, and many parts that are intellectually dishonest. Hard no

This podcast provided such great coverage of the Karen Read case. So much detail and honest/ humane comments from the host, who seems genuinely concerned about justice. My questions are: 1. How on earth was Jen McCabe not held in contempt of court? Idk what kind of trash human thinks they can interface with criminal attorneys in a court of law in the way that she did. Or why the judge let her behave that way. 2. Does Jen McKabe actually expect the general public to care about her suffering compared to the fact that an officer is dead? 3. I wonder when the perjury charges are coming, and then conspiracy? These ppl are horrible! If Karen Read gets convicted it will be such a tragic miscarriage of justice. 😞 I appreciate this podcast for giving us the details, despite the shame this murderous group of low-lives are bringing to greater Boston.

Barry has a no-nonsense approach to the high profile cases in Boston and beyond. He has an authentic voice, both literally and figuratively, and brings compelling insight into the cases. Very interesting and enjoyable.

I found this podcast looking for local stories and I have not been disappointed other than wishing the episodes were longer and more often at times. The Karen Read case is so huge right now and based on other research I’ve done (which is a great deal I think), I agree 100% with Barry’s depiction of the trial and events so far! Keep up the good work!!

How is it possible this late in the game of this case, can you have important FACTS so wrong? Just because you have a Boston accent does not mean you have any business reporting on Maura Murray. Spreading false info doesn’t nothing to forward the case.
