    Greatest game design podcast ever!
Three things set Justin Gary apart as a teacher of design. First, the professionalism and tact with which he hosts the podcast and shares his own insight. Second, the cast of world renowned designers that Justin knows personally and invites on the podcast. Third, the conviction to break down these wealths of knowledge into universal principles. I have learned more about design here on this podcast than anywhere else! Thank you Justin!

    Fantastic
As a working game designer (Subnautica, Vampire the Masquerade:Vendetta), I find very few truly helpful resources out there. The incredible line up of experts here is stunning. There’s so much wisdom here, I find myself so inspired I’m jotting down new game ideas, tools and insights non-stop. A little dangerous when I’m biking but my neurons are on fire! Thanks for all the great work you do, Justin! It’s really appreciated. It’s time to get to work on some new projects!

Universal Game Design Principles for Leadership
I'm a leadership trainer, executive coach and empowerment mentor and use gamification in my online and in-person workshops and events. I'm happy to have found first Justin Gary's book "Think like a Game Designer" and now his podcast because I find a lot of golden nuggest I can translate into my work with my clients. Loving to play board-games with my family and friends as a past time and connection builder I also love to use universal game design principles for helping people grow their leadership capabilities and make changes they struggle with more easy. Gamification brings playfulness. Playfulness empowers learning. Thank you Justin for your inspiration!

I’m not even a game guy, but I figured I would check this podcast out. As a visionary and implementer in my own company, many points resonate here, even if it regarding a different industry. Looking forward to the next one. Nice work Mr Gary

    Awesome!
This is a fabulous podcast that gives insight on game design, but it’s also helpful for anyone just to get creative ideas going. I don’t work in game design, but I work in a corporate office that encourages creative ideas and I think this podcast will be a great tool. Wonderful job!!!!’

The things we need to hear
We need to be told that our first games are (in the broad sense) going to stink a bit. But that experience is valuable and you need many iterations and attempts before it all falls together into a great thing worth sharing. Features from the failures will show up later in other game designs when they can be utilized in a way that is more fun than that first thing that was cool but without any draw or staying power. We need to know critical feedback is a good thing. And we need to know that top designers throw out their plans all the time and redo them or move onto the next project even when they were sure it was going to work as is. 100 different playtest groups all independently telling you it isn’t there for them as is has to be a shocking disappointment but is what an aspiring designer needs to be ready for. I look forward to the debates and challenges it takes to get my first game published and with a better end result than I started with for sure.

So cool listening to the top game designers in the industry telling stories about how the games I love are made! Really inspired me to try making my own game (or maybe just create better house rules so I win more often) ;) Thanks Justin Gary can’t wait to for more episodes!
