renderittRag in tailpipeFirst time tuning in this week and enjoyed the psychological analysis (ep 7?)! At the end, one of you posed the question to the analyst, “does the rag in the tailpipe still bother you?”. I remember seeing an old movie or show where a rag was used as a wick to start a vehicle on fire. 🤷🏼♀️

KissanderLots of assumptions here, little factsNot well researched, there is a lot of the hosts guessing at what they think might have happened and calling it facts. The way the victom is talked about is rather disgusting. This young woman is missing and may be dead. These men want to stand on HER GRAVE to make themselves famous. No thank you. And episode 3 Scorpion could be pretty good grounds for a liable case against this company.

Gigi@1930Scandalous tvI listened to your “assumptions” regarding Maura, her mental health, what kind of a person she was and outlandish accusations against her family just because they wouldn’t allow two complete strangers to discuss anything with them regarding they’re loved one. Then I listened to Julie Marray’s podcast. I am appalled at the audacity of you clowns to say horrible things about Maura and her family. As far as I’m concerned, that is slander and had it been my loved one I would have taken you to court for it. You’re not psychiatrist, you’re not law enforcement, you’re not PIs and you were not Maura’s friends or family. What you are is unprofessional, irresponsible, fame seeking wannabes. You give all podcasters a bad name. You two need to get a real job. If you want to be investigators or psychiatrists go to school, get your degree and license. You should be ashamed of yourselves for the things you’ve said. You say you want to help find Maura but this is not the way to do it. No one cares about your opinion. No one wants you to make a mental health diagnosis. If you continue to do podcasts you need to stick to the facts and only the facts. I will NEVER again listen to a podcast that either one of you are part of. How dare you cause more pain and suffering to this family. They have been through enough. Julie said what I thought all along…it’s podcasts like yours that played a part in Kathleen’s early death. Congratulations you have been part of adding more suffering to people who have suffered and will continue to suffer. I will pray for both of you.

mich222222222Well doneGood intentions here ! And how could 150 episodes not be considered covering all aspects !
-
HVEFAITH3 starsThe info on their Maura Murray case has a lot of misinformation. Close, but not quite. I also am not a fan of assumptions. I am fond of facts/factual evidence. To assume what Maura was doing and who she was/is is not your job. Telling facts, is what is right. Please, Go listen to Media Pressure for the correct info (from her own sister) on the Maura Murray story. All based on facts and no assumptions. I can’t even finish listening to it, on this platform.
-
DJthedog :)AwfulWildly speculative and unreliable, not to mention disrespectful to Maura and her family.
-
JR0973Enjoying the showI’ve listened to the first 20 episodes and think you guys are doing a good job. There’s lots of voices weighing in and I appreciate the full picture from facts to speculation to opinion to the strange. Looking forward to what’s coming over the next 100 episodes.
-
03/04/2024Ugh, couldn’t listen to these guys for another minute.Stop calling women “girls”. 18+ = “women”. Also, they are not “females”.
-
MamadetectiveInterested in Maura- not the hosts!I’ve made it through 100+ episodes because I’m late to this story and am now obsessed. However I FF through so much of the episodes because of the background drama the hosts have with other hosts. Also I don’t think “mansplaining” was a thing in the early days but these men telling us what is normal behavior for a college age woman makes my stomach turn. I’ll only keep listening by parsing through for Maura content ONLY.
-
JonannewithpursieeSpeculative. (and that’s being generous)Yikes made it to episode 3 and while I’m now interested in this case I’m way more interested in hearing from someone who won’t just wildly speculate and make assumptions on (for example) how someone must have behaved based on how they looked in a photograph
-
Trump 2020 KAGPolitical show?I come here to listen to true crime stories… not 2 idiots crying about Trump! No more of these 2 commies for me!
-
Luvit253684NopeI’ve heard such good things about this series, but after struggling through 6 episodes, I can’t go any farther. This is just wild speculation and sensationalism. Sociopath is not a word to throw around, especially in this context. A 19/20 year old making a mistake and shoplifting a lipstick doesn’t make her a sociopath. Very disappointing podcast.
-
EgriffsSkip and moved onThe speculation and lack of general knowledge. Assuming someone can make a few bad mistakes and decide to disappear and never use their social security number or be seen. Way too much personal opinion and guess work here.

M. LivesThere Has to Be a Better Maura Murray Pod…I made it through eighty-some episodes. Listen, I appreciate growth and acknowledging past errors. But the two podcast hosts managed to make even the irresponsibilities in their early episodes all about themselves instead of about Maura Murray. It’s not a surprise to find similar personalities that push irresponsible and even downright creepy theorizing and complete selfishness appearing frequently on the pod, some later disowned by the hosts/show, most not. Also, the hosts bristle at ANY criticism of themselves, including devoting multiple mentions to people that objected to their repeated references to a college nursing student in her twenties as “girl” and the fact two men might not understand the safety precautions taken by women and girls (not “females”). On that front, THE MANSPLAINING, MY GOD. There is no woman they have on they don’t interrupt and talk over, including actual journalist Maggie Freeling who they both (despite repeatedly pointing out they are not journalists, largely as a deflection of criticism) feel free to interrupt and “school”, not just about the case but in general, including about her job, a literal expert when they are by their own admission only playing on a podcast. Top that off with the casual homophobia and even if this podcast wasn’t 70% the two hosts fawning over themselves in a messy, scattered, sometimes boring (seriously how did they manage to make a case with these twists and turns boring?!) format, it’s a skip. Take it from someone who stuck by it for eighty plus eps hoping it’d get better because the case is so fascinating. Maura Murray’s fascinating disappearance deserves better than the worst impulses of social media has to offer. Skip this pod.
-
emboba330Hard to stomachInformative but these guys do SO much speculating. They also say so many insensitive things about Maura and her family. They come off really condescending most of the time. It’s a bummer that all these men are taking advantage of a young girl’s tragedy and making it their whole personality. Kinda gross.
-
Jimmy NeutronicSpoiler AlertMaura Murray is in the woods half a mile from where her car was found twenty years ago. That’s a ten episode podcast at best.
-
Common_sense👀Alex Baber is a jokeThe episode with Alex Barber is ridiculous. His speculation & assumptions discredit the organization he “represents.”
-
Wren1961A messThe podcasters are so disorganised & meandering. They skip through the so-called timeline all over the place. A script & tighter narrative would have worked. Give this a big miss - it’s too disjointed to be a good listen. I wanted to like this - disappointing.
-
Shiraz2610James RennerJames Renner was given way too much attention and credibility. Sociopath can only be diagnosed by a medical professional.
-
mamasifuGuests are RidiculousStarted out solid-but should have been a 3 episodes. The guests are a bunch of self-promoting, self-important bloggers who somehow found their niche in this case and attempt to give their two cents with a twist-and the twist is that there is this whole subset of shady, mysterious characters (most likely mama’s basement dwellers, too)threatening their existence. The most ridiculous was the guy who was “threatened” by some high ranking govt military official with an equally high ranking FBI BFF because why—a comment he made on another blog? I mean COME ON. Dude lives in his own universe, just as most bloggers do.
-
quackwJames rennerThe only sociopath in the Maura Murray story is James renner dudes a psycho
-
Revashane18Great deep dive!I find this story fascinating. I love how these guys go over every theory, down every rabbit hole and interview quite a few different individuals to discuss their findings and theories.
-
colerose4Episode 112 ❤️❤️❤️Loved listening to this.
-
DH5200Love this podcast!I’m way behind on Maura’s case but I do love Lance and Tim’s coverage of the info. Also just love the intro music. So calming. Glad you didn’t change the music when you changed to looking at other cases. 💜
-
Ashly1984Two typical know-it-alls who can’t seem to tell a storyI have tried and tried to get through these episodes. Adding James Renner in the episodes kind of ruined it for me, and with the know it all attitudes of hosts, kind of a mess. And what’s with calling a 21 year old a girl. You would never call a 21 year old man a boy. I’m not some person who’s offended by everything, but hearing that is so annoying.
-
catramirez06PsychicI fell the psychic was reaching and kept repeating what you were saying. The fact she first say she felt she was dead and then said she was alive, then said she was in water then said in the mountains? Totally not true. She did not know anything.
-
Girl_MormonMehI was all for this until the psychic episode … episode 10. They were literally feeding the psychic answers and then she’d repeat what they just said. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!? 🙄🙄🙄
-
Nelgh3Love podcast but Maggie? NoTim and Lance, great podcast. Although Ican definitely do without the political inserts. Unnecessary, and as one of you stated, you’re alienating half your audience. However, I find your podcast fascinating so I’ve stuck it out. But, Maggie, no, no, no. She interrupts everyone, especially Art, over and over! Drives me nuts and I find it super frustrating to listen to! My goodness! Fortunately she’s not a permanent fixture. At yeast, I hope not. But thank you guys for your podcast!!!

stopvictimblamingCringeI was skeptical when I read such negative reviews and wanted to listen for myself. I am SHOCKED at how flippantly Renner says “of course she was a sociopath” and how the hosts do nothing but blur the lines. Psychopaths and sociopaths are not the same thing, nor are any of these men qualified to attempt to diagnose her. How dare they bring up such gross criticism of a young woman who for all we know is a VICTIM. I also implore future podcasters to treat the family of a victim with more respect and be cautious of demonizing them (referring to Fred). Whether he is suspicious or not, you have not a shred of evidence that he was involved, and I am shocked at the disrespect. I could only get through the first 9 or so episodes, and I think they should be deleted.
-
jeanelluqNot an easy listen toI know I’m years behind but I tried to start from the beginning and it’s tough to get through. Two grown men in 2015 speculating about the life and goings on of a 21 year old girl with some sort of authority is cringeworthy. They are soooooooo far off base of what was normal for a 21 yr old in 2004. I’m the same age as Maura, stuff they are chasing and going off on tangents about as if their opinions are fact is laughable. I think it’s Lance who is the worst at it. His tone is so condescending, honestly I had to quit listening. It’s a shame they didn’t just list the facts and keep their theory’s until much later. Or at the very least present all theory’s in a more concise way. I would suggest they redo old original eps, sort of like a catch up and keep the more recent, significant and breaking news ones to clean this podcast up. It’s a mess.
-
bellebleuShame on youS1, Ep8: you both talk about how if Fred would do interviews and answer questions that he could clear up some confusion and possibly clear some of what he’s said and that he could be a great dad WHILE all you and your guests have done thus far is pick apart everything he’s already said and make it seem as though he’s a suspect. Why in the world should he say MORE when all you’re going to do is what you’ve already done: continue to pick him apart? That man is still searching for his daughter. Compare him to OJ, who actually killed his wife and claims he didn’t know who did it and then pledged to find the killer and what has he done? Nothing. Why? Because he knows who (he) killed Nicole. If Fred knew what happened to Maura, do you honestly think he would still be searching for her almost 20 years later?

Kevinr5Love the podcast.Love it

kenziekittennI’m way behind…So I’m only on episode 44, (I know, I know), but this episode seems really important because Butch mentions seeing cars drive by the accident site while he’s on the phone with 911. Perhaps because he said he was going to call the police, and Maura maybe had been drinking, she was nervous so when he said he was going to call the police she started freaking out and someone drove by, rolled down the window, and said, “hey do you need a ride somewhere?” Perhaps she was desperate and/or trusting and was so scared of getting in trouble with the police that she just said yes, grabbed her purse and whatever else she took, and hopped in that car. Then that person wound up being malicious and took her. So, how do we find out more about who else drove by this accident? Why, if other cars passed Maura, has no one else come forward? Why didn’t the police ask for any witnesses to contact their offices? Stoked to hear more and enjoy the journey from here. Thanks Tim and Lance for all your hard work!
-
jWE19227Great WorkThank you Tim & Lance for your hard work on this podcast. I appreciate your diligence in getting closer to the truth and facts!
-
TracyM416Do Not Listen!Wildly speculative in a way that is disrespectful to Maura’s memory and her family. Hosts should be ashamed. If you’re interested in this case, 107 degrees infinitely more informative and cohesive.
-
JennimayOut Of Touch Tin Foil HattersUnfounded speculation & accusations. These fellas are delusional in thinking they’re detectives. That old lady from murder she wrote has more clout than these jamokes.
-
BputzkeTerribleIf I could give this podcast zero stars, I would. They seem to talk more about the “trolls” more than the Maura Murray story. I wish I would of counted how many times they talk about the trolls, it seems like it’s every single episode. If I never hear someone talk about online trolls again, I’ll be happy. The timeline bounces all over with different interviews, that are not even that good. And I’m not sure how the President Trump plays any part in her story, why are they bad mouthing him. I’m not listening to a true crime podcast to hear your political views.
-
f*ci offRudeYou boys are annoying ,as a bartender I can tell you X amount of or what not is not relevant . Pretty sure an 17 year old could drink that . Y’all seem awful . I was looking forward to this podcast . 10 min in . Not so much . Education is important , no wonder you have a 3 star
-
SheseesseasShamefulI was shocked the opening discussion for this podcast immediately started victim shaming. The host should be ashamed of themselves for the speculation that they keep saying they won’t focus on, yet spend 10 to 15 minutes focusing on speculation and hypotheticals. It’s clear he has no compassion for Maura or her family. I could not make it through the second episode before shutting it off. Incredibly disrespectful to the point of appalling.
-
AC on the LakeFull of Nonsense SpeculationsI tried with this podcast. I made it through episode 6, but just can’t take it anymore. In each episode, the hosts state they are only interested in the facts of this case. They then spend the remainder of the episode engaging in completely unsubstantiated speculation and gossip about anyone remotely connected to this case.

Cloud MojoMMM Podcast is all HeartMissing Maura Murray is a podcast that began as a vehicle for Tim Pilleri & Lance Reenstierna’s documentary, “Finding Maura Murray” which chronicles the internet sleuths obsessed with Maura’s case. MMM has evolved into a heartfelt search to find out what happened to Maura. I feel like I am along for “the ride” with Tim & Lance & I’m completely invested in their dedicated journey for answers. The show has now spring boarded with Missing Podcast, covering missing persons in conjunction with non profit PIFTM. *My initial review from 2019, updated

ELF1315Tried to listen to this many times…I’ve turned this podcast on a few times to try to listen to it but it’s just really bad. The constant “this is going to be a documentary” reminders that justify the non-information they are giving is annoying. Way too much speculation even though they say “well we can’t speculate on that” and then they have a 10 minute conversation about not speculating on things. It’s just cringeworthy.
-
readingreneeUh You knowStop saying YOU Know I couldn’t listen even though I wanted to know more about this case. I should count how many UM UH and You know The most annoying two hosts ever
-
ErinshopperJunkTwo guys who have already made up their mind. The entire podcast is them “speculating” which sounds like gossiping. No real facts or in-depth analysis. If you are a conspiracy nut you’ll love this.
-
TStewartInteresting, but focusing on some of the wrong thingsThis review is mainly a vehicle for my years-late rant about the new female researcher "KF" who rides in on the wake of haughty messages complaining about how the hosts referred to Maura Murray as a 21 year old girl - how dare they call her a girl?!?!?! - - and she then proceeds to refer to MM's friends as girls. Twice. "These were girls she was keeping in touch with, fer sure." Hypocrite. It all also gets a little self-consciously woo-woo. This "Cold" person ... wow.
-
Fs22227878Too much Personal DramaStopped at the episode re: what was in Muara’s car. They talked for 19 minutes (possibly longer, I gave up listening) about some personal drama with online trolls. If you decide to do a podcast, I’m sure that sort of thing is par for the course. Talking about that kind of thing for an entire episode, and often at the start of every show, makes you seem immature and like total rookies. Ignore those people and focus.
-
MylissaRThe worstWorst podcast I’ve listened to. I’m on episode 8 and I can’t even finish. In this episode they just spent a good amount of time going on about their ongoing drama with a person leaving comments about them online. Who cares? This was where I threw in the towel, but this amateur, unprofessional, and inexperience is peppered throughout and hard to overlook. SO many ads, the same one that plays over and over, and when it comes on it’s so much louder it’s startling. SO much speculation that they seem to think the listener needs to be told over and over is speculation. We get it, you’re speculating! And also, stop! They can’t seem to just tell the story. They don’t even know the story! They have to back track, correct and insert facts they’re getting from online comments. They’re all over the place and it’s really hard to follow. I would get interested when they had guests on, but then they’d start talking again and it was painfully annoying to listen to them labor through. They just do not know what they’re doing. It’s an interesting story, but I’ll go find another way to learn about it. I can’t finish this podcast. It’s that bad.
-
ytrw8866sexistIncredibly sexist and mysoginistic. They make weird speculative assumptions about human behavior (especially young women) when they do not know what they're talking about. They think they are unbiased but they are not. They somehow took up this space talking about Maura Murray in the true crime space but I wish others would make a podcast about this. People with a better perspecitive and actually interview experts.
-
LilbostonfanMissing Maura MurrayI’m indeed playing catch up on your podcast as I’ve just recently heard of it from another podcast I love. I knew of the case but not as much of the details and ins and outs of it. I’m only ten episodes in and I’m intrigued by what your doing and trying to do. Love the show and how you guys present the case.
