Surviving Life with Les Stroud

18

From the scorched sands of the Kalahari Desert to the rock and roll stage in Las Vegas to living with remote tribes in the world’s jungles, mention the word ‘survival’ and Les Stroud is the name at the top of the list. Appropriately recorded only in outdoor settings, ‘Survivorman’ himself is the perfect podcast interviewer to sit with and pull deep and inspiring life stories from artists and motivated individuals who continue to forge new pathways while surviving life itself.

I love the Survivor Man show. And am grateful that they are on YouTube now. This is like a behind-the-scenes. I like hearing his opinion and just sit down and listen to a friendly chat. I look forward to more.

I am a big fan of Les as the creator of the outdoor survival show, and still the most genuine. But starting off this podcast w/such a gifted lyricist and musician as Bruce Cockburn - it increases my appreciation for his outlook. Gave me flashbacks to when I would drive all night to an off the beaten path client or hidden fishing hole and would listen to Cockburn to refresh me as the sun would rise since his music often complemented the landscape. I am now reacquainting myself with both of their works. A good way to say farewell to 2020 and look forward.

    Love it!
I’ve been watching Les Stroud since the beginning. In all honesty he is why my Dog has a middle name. Doug Les Stroud Olearain. (It’s because when he eats his food it’s loud). I have so much respect for his filmography and struggle. His Podcast, his show, his loyalty to the craft is amazing. I watched with my son and he has used Les Strouds accomplishments and failures to do what he loves. And that is being outdoors and connecting to nature.

    Excellent podcast
Les’ shows have always been great, and his podcast is no exception. He has a wide variety of guests and topics they discuss in a format that is relaxed and genuine. The audio quality is very good and the shows are paced well. Time spent listening to his podcast is time well spent.

Ad to content ratio is off
I love you Les, but I feel like I’m sitting thru just as much ads and filler as actual content. I understand you need to make money but you also need to make me want to come back for more. I’m giving an optimistic 5 stars, with hope for improvement.

    Long awaited!
Anyone who’s heard Les speak knows a podcast is a perfect forum to teach, share, create, and inspire us all with his endless talents, skills, and knowledge. Very excited for this long awaited project!!

    Solid, but need refining.
Great material, for the most part it’s everything we love when we think of Les Stroud. That said, the music for sometimes extensive periods is painful. I get what your doing, but maybe consider ending the podcast with it. I’m only half way through the 2nd podcast and it’s annoying, especially the really long songs.

    Outstanding!
I’m super exited about this podcast. I’ve been waiting for Les to do a podcast for a long time. I could listen to him explain the tax code and enjoy. Love his perspective on life.
